OUTPUT DEVICES

An output device receives information from the computer and translates it from machine language to a form that humans can read or so that another machine can read the information. The data out of the computer in the form of the text, images, sound or other media to a display screen, printer, loudspeaker, or storage devices.
An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment used to communicate the results of data processing carried out by an information processing system (such as a computer) to the outside world. Since most information from a computer is output in either a visual or auditory format, the most common output devices are the monitor and speakers. These two devices provide instant feedback to the user's input, such as displaying characters as they are typed or playing a song selected from a playlist.
While monitors and speakers are the most common output devices, there are many others. Some examples include headphones, printers, projectors, lighting control systems, audio recording devices, and robotic machines. A computer without an output device connected to it is pretty useless, since the output is what we interact with. Anyone who has ever had a monitor or printer stop working knows just how true this is. Of course, it is also important to be able to send information to the computer, which requires an input device.

Examples of output devices are:
Monitor
Printer
Sound card
Speakers
Video card
Buzzers                                                                                                         Loudspeakers                                                                                                  Headphones

Output device???
How to know output device???
Let’s find out the meaning of output device………..

Printer
Output devise is something that produces from electronic, for example printer when it produces a hard copy of data. So, it calls output devise. A printer prints whatever is on the monitor onto paper.  Printers can print words, numbers, or pictures.

Monitor
Then, monitor also we call as output devise whenever we on the monitor. Whatever something that comes out from monitor and we can look from them we call as output devise.
Monitor, when visual is display on screen it call output devise. A computer display is also called a display screen or video display terminal (VDT). A monitor is a screen used to display the output. A monitor is the screen on which words, numbers, and graphics can be seem.  The monitor is the most common output device.

Projector
Projectors are often used in meetings and presentations so that everyone in the room can view the presentation. In the picture to the right, is a ViewSonic projector and an example of what a projector may look like. Projectors used with computers are small devices that are rarely much larger than a toaster and typically weigh a few pounds.

Voice output device
This device produces a human speech like sound, but actually is prerecorded vocalized sounds. Voice output is used in the telephone information system, where the requested number is reported using a voice output system. Those devices which produce voice after input are called voice output devices. You can see many examples around you of voice output devices. For example television is the example of voice output device when you listen different kinds of sound from your television.

Speaker

A speaker gives you sound output from your computer.  Some speakers are built into the computer and some are separate.

Headphones

Headphones give sound output from the computer.  They are similar to speakers, except they are worn on the ears so only one person can hear the output at a time.

Modem
Another form of the output device is a modem. A modem is short for "MOdulator-DEModulator." Modulation is the process of converting from digital to analog. Demodulation is the process of converting from analog to digital.
The modem enables digital microcomputers to send output through analog telephone lines. Both voice and data can be carried over through the modem. The modem is not only an output device but also an input device that receives data and voice through a communication channel.

Sound card

Alternatively referred to as a sound board or an audio card, a sound card is an expansion card or integrated circuit that provides a computer with the ability to produce sounds that can be heard by the user either over speakers or headphones. Below is an image of the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card and an example of what a sound card may look like.

Video adapter

Alternatively referred to as a graphics card, video card, video board, or a video controller, a video adapter is an internal circuit board that allows a display device such as a monitor to display images from the computer. Today's video cards are most commonly connected to the AGP, PCI, or PCIeexpansion slot on the motherboard, however, can also be found on-board

Flat-panel display

Flat-panel displays found with all portable computers and becoming the new standard with desktop computers. Instead of utilizing the cathode-ray tube technology flat-panel displays use Liquid-crystal display (LCD) technology or other alternative making them much lighter and thinner when compared with a traditional monitor. In the picture to the right, is of the Samsung 915V flat-panel display and an example of what a flat-panel display may look like.
